One day Mary Ann and I were traveling around a close area on our motorcycle and as we passed over the bridge, we both begin to look down where there was a newly built road under the overpass. So out of curiosity, we decided to find a way down to see where did this new road lead to. As we travel onto the new road next to the river on the left side of us were lines of makeshift homes, made of wood, cardboard, tin, tarps, and even banana leaves to help shelter those who lived along the way. A Philippine proverb says that if anyone wastes rice or throws it away, his hand will become deformed and he will never know abundance or prosperity. In the Philippines rice is much more than food, it is sustenance with historical and numerous cultural values that are deeply woven into the Filipino culture. The Filipino language has several different words for rice, it is locally known as “Palay” (un-milled rice), “Bigas” (milled rice), “Kanin” (cooked rice), and a few more. Poverty
In the Philippines, close to 1 out of every three individuals lives below the poverty line, while the country itself is in full economic expansion. Although this is encouraging for the future, the present situation remains bleak for a great many households.
Poor families frequently suffer from hunger or malnutrition from which follow numerous health problems, particularly among children who are physically more vulnerable than adults. (Click on the title to read the story in its entirety)
Give The Love is a local Philippines-based organization that is taking decisive steps in ministering to those in need through the act of giving our time, patience, and resources through acts of charity work within the community.
Through Give The Love Outreach you can help us bring hope to less fortunate families with either a one-time gift or monthly support to aid us with an ongoing supply of rice and other supplies to help families abroad.
As we have made mention about the importance of rice here in the Philippines, let us not forget about the need for healthcare, dental care, clothing, shoe, and proper education to give many children the opportunity to go and graduate from high school with the potential of moving on to college to better prepare themselves for goal minded careers.
No child or family should go hungry in any country of the world. But millions of kids here in the Philippines are living with hunger right now because of unavoidable circumstances such as typhoons, poor economics, lack of education for the poor, pandemic, high pregnancy rate, and the lack of understanding of parenthood for many and the lists goes on. With Give The Love, you as Partners can help us bring hope as we strive to help in areas of need.
When you begin to help others your gift becomes the hands of love to aid those in need and you also help us to continue this vital work that is dear to our hearts.
Life is busy, and it can sometimes be easy to forget to show your gratitude for all that you've been so blessed to recieve. When you are ready to give and are researching a charity to support, we pray that you will consider helping us here @ Give The Love to carry on this mission work here in the Philippines.
Our monthly newsletters and blog post will keep you up to date on the mission work here in the Philippines. Also when your gift is given you will automatically recieve a invoice of the amount you give each time to your email account.
When you make a charitable gift to Give The Love Organization, you will become more educated about social injustices around the world. This will help you have a greater understanding of the world and your own community at hand. This can also fuel your sense of purpose in life and contribute to solutions as you are helping us here in the Philippines.
Give the Love organization has been a great funnel to supporting those in need. I have been a supporter of the vision that Pastor Percy and Mary Ann Craine have embarked upon. And I would like to encourage anyone who understand the need for others to allow the Lord to touch your heart to become a supporter of the Give the Love organization.
