Philippines Is The Most Exposed Country In The World To Natural Disasters

The world’s most vulnerable nation to natural disasters is the Philippines, according to a recent study.

The “Ring of Fire” or “typhoon belt,” a sizable area of the Pacific Ocean where many of the planet’s volcanic eruptions and earthquakes take place, is where the Philippines is situated. As a result, the nation has endured a great deal of damage from strong and fatal typhoons, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and other natural calamities.

Every year, over 80 typhoons develop over tropical waters, 19 of which enter the Philippines and six to nine of which land. The most recent was Typhoon Ompong, which struck the Philippines with the greatest force since 2010.

The Philippines has been identified as the nation in the world with the greatest vulnerability to natural disasters! However, the Center for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED) said that in its analysis of 281 occurrences for 2018, the Philippines ranked second among the top 10 nations in terms of the number of people affected by extreme weather events and tenth for the highest death toll.
